There are many factors that affect the accuracy of measurement data. If the measurement data is wrong, many customers will think the problem is caused by the instrument. In fact, wrong operation will also lead to measurement data error.
 
1. Proper use of coating thickness gauge
When using a coating thickness gauge to measure the coating film, the probe needs to be pressed vertically on the surface of the object to be measured. If the measurement is tilted or shaken, the accuracy of the data will be affected. The probe needs to be checked before measurement. If there are foreign objects on the probe surface, you need to clean the probe. In addition, if you use a coating thickness gauge based on the principle of magnetic induction, you need to be careful to avoid magnetic field interference. The strong magnetic field environment generated by the surrounding electrical equipment will seriously interfere with the measurement results, resulting in inaccurate measurement data. In the measurement process, it may even cause malfunctions due to magnetic field interference, such as collapse.
 
2. Store the coating thickness gauge correctly
The coating thickness gauge is a high-precision measuring instrument, so it must be careful when it is used and correctly stored and processed after the measurement is completed. If stored incorrectly, it may reduce the sensitivity of the probe and may affect the accuracy of the instrument.

3. Make zero adjustment to the coating thickness gauge before use

If it is the first time to use a coating thickness gauge, you should read the manual carefully before use and follow the steps in the manual. Take the coating thickness gauge produced by Linshang as an example. When using the instrument for the first time, after replacing the battery, when changing the measurement material or when the temperature changes suddenly, in order to reduce the measurement error, the zero adjustment should be performed (some higher performance Thickness gauge can be automatically calibrated to zero).

 It is strongly recommended to use the same uncoated workpiece surface for zero adjustment (because there may be differences in physical properties (such as magnetic or conductive properties) between the material being tested and the zero plate. If there is no uncoated workpiece, you can use The aluminum zero plate or iron zero pound plate provided by the manufacturer is used for zero adjustment. Please select the corresponding zero plate according to different materials to be tested. Linshang coating thickness gauge only needs zero adjustment, no calibration is required. After zero adjustment is completed The measurement can be started. The measurement speed of this instrument is very fast, and the measurement can be completed within 0.5s.

 
If the instrument faulted when using ,please do not disassemble the instrument by yourself, otherwise the precision parts inside the instrument are easily damaged. The instrument should be returned to the manufacturer for repair by qualified service personnel.
