UV Curing Principle

Photoinitiators (or photosensitizers) are added into specially formulated resins. After absorbing high-intensity ultraviolet (UV) light emitted by the UV curing equipment, photoinitiators generate active free radicals or ionic groups. This triggers polymerization, cross-linking and grafting reactions, which convert resins (UV coatings, inks, adhesives, etc.) from liquid to solid state within seconds.
